Here’s an audio tidbit that I’ve just finished (its really hard to work on these things because there are many plugins to play with)
which is an example of instantaneous construction. I first played with two similar drumloops and added a snare sound.
then I duplicated the snare to an ambient electronic noise track. I played two acoustic guitar tracks (recorded over the mike
in my iMac) and added a bass line which was duplicated and disturbed. I cut and paste and edit routinely though i love live tracking
and manipulating live sounds with loops. So then I put all this through a bevy of absurd plugins- you can discover very interesting stuff just noodling around with various eqs and filters. This has become my style of recording lately. The audio snippet is a called-off car chase from a police scanner that I found in cyberspace. I cut it up and moved stuff around and it actually sounds like it was meant for the track though it does change its perspective from a piece of music to something a little more intense.
